NHS Triaging Nurse | Seaham - Sunderland | BANK | Days only
Due to period of innovation, Spire Healthcare's North East hub are recruiting for a NHS Triaging Nurse to join the team on a bank basis.
This is a key patient safety role within Spire - The post holder will be responsible for reviewing the clinical information of the NHS patients who have been referred to the Spire Hospitals that come under the umbrella of the Patient Support Centre. This is a non patient facing role.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Working autonomously, complete triaging for the hospitals who come under the PSC
- Requests medical information from General Practitioners and other healthcare providers to other to ensure all relevant information is available to enable an appropriate decision.
- Ensures patients meet the surgical admissions criteria for the appropriate level of care for the hospital.
- Ensures workload is carried out efficiently and to agreed standardised working practice and protocols.
- Effectively communicate with all members of the multidisciplinary team and key stakeholders.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
- Work to national and local best practice policy and guidance.
Who we're looking for:
- Registered Nurse with NMC registration
- Pre- Assessment and previous surgical experience is desirable
- Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies, such as the Care Quality Commission.
- Good knowledge of A&P and surgical procedures
- Good record keeping.
- Professional attitude and caring disposition
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- IT literate and a competent user of the MS Office suite of products
