We pride ourselves on our comprehensive preceptorship programs, designed to support you as you develop your skills across all areas of midwifery practice. These programs may include integrated MLC preceptorships, combining community and birth centre shifts, as well as placements on antenatal wards, labour wards, maternity triage, and postnatal wards — giving you a well-rounded foundation in maternity care.
Please note, this opportunity is exclusively for student midwives who are due to qualify and anticipate gaining entry to the NMC register by early October 2025.

Exciting Opportunity for Newly Qualified Midwives
As a Newly Qualified Midwife , you will play a vital role in assessing, implementing, and evaluating clinical care for women, birthing people, and babies within our maternity unit. Working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will ensure that effective, personalized care is planned and delivered with compassion and professionalism.
In this role, you will undertake relevant further study as needed and complete a comprehensive preceptorship program designed to support your development and confidence in practice. Maintaining high standards of professionalism and clinical excellence will be central to your role, ensuring the best outcomes for those in your care.
You will also have the opportunity to provide support and supervision to less experienced practitioners, midwives, nurses, and students, helping to uphold the trust’s standards and competencies while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
