Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as well as operate delivery vehicles efficiently.
Duties
- Safely drive a van or lorry to deliver goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload products, ensuring that all items are handled with care.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and delivery logs.
- Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in warehouse duties when not on delivery, including organising stock and managing inventory.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong commercial driving skills with a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.
- Experience with heavy lifting and handling of large items safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is an advantage.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to road regulations.
