Position Summary
Due to continued growth and development, WRC is looking for an experienced and self-motivated MRF Chargehand to oversee the operations of our material recovery facility. This is an extremely exciting position that will offer the selected candidate an opportunity for excellent career advancement in an award-winning business.
Responsibilities
- Act as first-line manager and people manager for site operatives in the pre-sorting area
- Compliance and enforcement of company Health and Safety standards at all times
- Lead and motivate staff to carry out site operations to the highest standard
- Quality control checking of operations to ensure compliance with licenses and reporting any faults to maintenance staff promptly
- Ensuring the company environmental policy is always complied with
- Ensuring all plant and machinery are maintained to ensure the minimum downtime
- Ensuring daily checks by operatives are carried out
- Organise work schedules to ensure the appropriate staff numbers are available
- Check and sign off timesheets
- Any other duties which could be reasonably expected of you in accordance with the role
Skills Required
- Strong people management skillsand leadership qualities
- Experience managing a team of people is essential
- A firm but fair attitude to staff management
- Recycling yard experience is essential
- Bilingual capabilities are desirable with an ability to work with a range of different people
- Ability to work with heavy machinery is desirable but not essential, as this role will be largely focused on personnel management
- Understand the operation and maintenance requirements of mobile plant and machinery
- Calm, authoritative ability to make decisions within defined limits of authority
