The role
As an Motor Vehicle Skills Assessor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be a vital part of maintaining learner progression, engagement, and achievement especially during times of staff absence or when additional support is needed across the programme. Acting as a rapid response resource, you’ll help reduce learner drop-off, accelerate completions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Day-to-day, you will play a critical role in coaching and motivating learners who are off-track or temporarily without an assigned coach. You will also:
- Act as a flexible resource to ensure continuity of delivery during periods of absence or increased demand.
- Provide surge support to drive forward learner progression and completions
- Support, motivate and coach learners who are off track through their apprenticeship programme ensuring all components of the apprenticeship programme are completed whilst meeting awarding organisation, ESFA and Ofsted requirements
- Schedule and attend learner progress reviews for learners who have no allocated coach and / or require additional targeted support and complete all required documentation
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learner workshops to support learner progression.
This role is full time working 37 hours per week. The Motor Vehicle Skills Assessor role is fully remote and requires the successful candidate to deliver support across a range of sites in South West including Tidworth, Lyneham, Warminster, Colerne, Larkhill, Bulford and Wiltshire..
Essential experience of the Motor Vehicle Skills Assessor:
- Considerable experience as a qualified assessor
- Considerable experience in an appropriate industry environment
- Good understanding of work-based learning programmes
Qualifications for the Motor Vehicle Skills Assessor:
- Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent)
- Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Vehicle Mechanic Level 3 Qualification - (minimum of level 3)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (EDBS) security clearance for this role.
