Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Miller/Turner to join our team. You will be responsible for operating machinery and tools to fabricate and assemble metal components. Your attention to detail and ability to work with precision will be crucial in ensuring the quality of our products. Duties:
- Set up and operate milling and turning machines to shape metal parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders
- Use hand tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to measure and inspect finished parts
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production processes
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Working to minimum tolerance of 15 microns
- Working predominantly with 300 series stainless steel, plus various other materials
- Familiarity with tooling techniques and basic mathematical calculations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues with machinery
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience as a Miller/Turner or in a similar role
- Proficient in using hand tools and operating milling and turning machines - Prototrak S series controls, XYZ S series controls
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders
- Experience working in an engineering environment is essential
- Ability to programme basic tool paths
Desirable Criteria:
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls
