The VC Gallery, Pembroke Dock is seeking to employ a self- motivated, organised person for 3, 4 or 5 days a week to work alongside ex military personnel, their families and the wider community to give advice and guidance with welfare issues, actively signpost for further help and to take part in activities together to build trust. We are a charity organisation supporting veterans and community members from our hubs in Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest, and use the arts and various activities to encourage social interaction and connection to combat loneliness and isolation.
This position would suit someone with experience of working in a participatory capacity such as teaching/training, social care, etc although this is not a necessity. Most importantly the successful candidate will be people-centred, proactive and positive in finding opportunities to engaging with for our service users to understand how best to support them.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible, self-managing and prepared to undertake a range of duties from managing volunteers, handling referrals and associated administrative duties. It is hoped the successful candidate will embrace the holistic approach of the service we offer and be enthusiastic about, and interested in, the interconnected and supportive nature of the wider work undertaken. This job would ideally suit someone who has served in HM Forces.
Training will be offered: Employee induction will include mandatory training in safeguarding and GDPR, while on the job training will include; dementia awareness, mental health first aid, active listening skills, equality diversity and inclusion. Individual management supervision will be provided.
