Job Summary:
To provide general secretarial support to the Practice Manager, Doctors and Health Professionals involving word processing and audio typing skills with general clerical work.
Shift Pattern:
Monday: 9.00am - 1.30pm
Tuesday: 9.00am - 4.30pm
Wednesday: 12.00pm - 4.30pm
Thursday: 9.00am - 4.30pm
Friday: 9.00am - 4.30pm
Job Responsibilities:
To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and Health Professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
- To process referrals efficiently and in a timely manner.
- To assist the Practice Manager with all clerical and administrative duties.
- Attend meetings and take minutes.
- To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
- Summarising of patient notes adding all information to patient records.
- Coding of clinical letters received from outside organisations.
- To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
- To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
- To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
Community Clinics Responsibilities:
- To establish and maintain the Community Gynaecology, Community Vasectomy and Community Minor Surgery Clinics
- Processing the Community Clinic referrals within the timeframe, to include registering the patients, booking the appointments and notifying patients.
- Typing the clinic letters.
- Chasing results.
- Booking follow up appointments.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
