Two exciting opportunities have arisen for Marketing and Communications Assistants to join our Campus Services Section.

Job Title: Marketing and Communications Assistant
Contract: Full-time permanent or fixed term (6 months)
Salary: £26,255.98 - £27, 337.84 per annum
Purpose of job: To provide dedicated marketing and administrative support for the UECS marketing and communications team and the wider UECS management team as needed.
Duties of the Post:
The main duties of the post will include:
1. Team administrative support
- Meeting organisation: room bookings and invites, minute taking, production and circulation of papers and agendas.
- Collating information for the staff newsletter from stakeholders across the University and sending them out.
- Liaising with internal and external suppliers; keeping records of interactions and progress.
- Assisting with the organisation of section wide events.
2. Marketing and Communications
- Co-ordination and collation of the Campus Services communications and engagement newsletters and other marketing reports.
- Co-ordination, collation and deployment of weekly and monthly newsletters.
- Co-ordination and administrative support for marketing and communications project activity e.g. Welcome Week, Essex Food Debate, surveys and meetings.
- Assisting with market research and bench marketing.
- Assisting with the running of surveys and customer feedback.
- Assisting with proof reading and copy collation.
- Monitoring and ensuring promotional material is displayed at all campuses as appropriate.
- Organising prints, reprints and updates of marketing collateral.
- Updating the University and UECS websites.
3. Financial
- •Raising purchase orders, goods receipting, administering payment of invoices on Agresso and dealing with payment queries.
- Assistance in the maintenance of financial commitment logs.
- Undertake financial processes including setting up new supplier records, purchase orders, receipt of goods, payment of invoices and dealing with queries.
4. General
- Attend events such as Arrivals Day, Welcome Week, Fresher’s Fair, Essex Food Debate (some evening/weekend work).
- Undertake any other duties that may be assigned by the Marketing Manager or their nominee.
These duties are a guide to the work that the post holder will initially be required to undertake. They may be changed from time to time to meet changing circumstances.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications / Training
- A good working knowledge of, or qualifications in, Word, Excel and other Microsoft packages including Outlook - ESSENTIAL
- At least 4 GCSE passes (minimum Grade C) or equivalent including English - ESSENTIAL
Experience / Knowledge
- Experience of working with multiple priorities - ESSENTIAL
- Relevant and recent administrative experience - ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working within a customer focused environment - ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working to deadlines - ESSENTIAL
- Experience of basic financial processes including purchase orders and invoices - DESIRABLE
- Experience of or an interest in working in a Marketing environment - ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders - DESIRABLE
Skills / Abilities
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal/communication skills interacting with a wide variety of stakeholders - ESSENTIAL
- Ability to write clearly and concisely for various audiences - ESSENTIAL
- High standards of accuracy, attention to detail and proof reading skills - ESSENTIAL
