The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the driving force behind quality assurance in our workshops, ensuring that every component, material, and assembly meets the rigorous standards required for nuclear applications. Your keen eye and technical expertise will ensure nothing leaves the workshop without meeting our high expectations.
Your role will involve conducting independent inspections across UK vendor premises, performing non-destructive testing, and reviewing manufacturing documentation. You’ll be responsible for timely reporting and managing any deviations or non-conformances through to resolution. Playig a vital role in promoting safety culture and assessing supply chain performance.
Regular travel and overnight stays are part of the job, giving you the chance to engage with diverse teams and environments.
Who You Are
You bring extensive technical skills in mechanical engineering, particularly in materials and welding, backed by strong experience in manufacturing surveillance and inspection. Your understanding of regulations, codes, and standards in the nuclear industry is solid, and you’re fluent in reviewing material certifications.
You’re comfortable with ISO 9001 and adept at using IT tools and software. Your communication skills shine when working with multidisciplinary teams, and you’re able to provide clear technical explanations. You thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and stay focused under pressure, always committed to quality and deadlines.
You hold a master’s degree in mechanical, material, or welding engineering (or equivalent).
