Job Overview:We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Gardener (Grade B Level 1) to join our team maintaining and enhancing public green spaces in the heart of London. This is a manual labour position based at the City Gardens depot, supporting the daily upkeep and development of parks, gardens, and open spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, planting, pruning, watering, and litter picking
- Operate and maintain basic gardening tools and machinery
- Assist with seasonal planting and garden improvement projects
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and safe
- Follow health and safety guidelines and report any hazards
- Drive work vehicles as required (Driving Licence essential)
Requirements:
- Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance (preferred)
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Physically fit and capable of manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions
- Must bring your own sturdy work boots
