Male Support Worker - waking nights

Role Description
Gray Healthcare are recruiting a Male Support Worker, within the Salford area of Manchester, to support a gentleman in his 40's who has a diagnosis of Organic Personality Disorder and dysarthria as a result of brain injury.
The gentleman we support lives independently in his own home receiving 2:1 support 24 hours a day. He has a good sense of humour, enjoys fitness and gym and is a huge Manchester United football club fan.
He is supported by a male only team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.
We are recruiting manual drivers only for this role as the individual we support will have a mobility vehicle to access the community.
Male Support Worker Required Skills and Experience
- Full UK Manual Driving License – Essential.
- Social care experience, ideally within mental health and with some experience of supporting individuals with ABI.
- Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and and acquired brain injury.
- Experience supporting individuals with behaviours perceived as challenging.
- Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
- You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.
- This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Hours
36 hour contract 3 x 12 hour shift per week, waking night shifts from 8pm to 8am (Alternative weekends)
Induction and Training
We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.) Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominate approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
