● Location: Hybrid - home/office/outreach (involves travel throughout Cheshire)
The Role
Join our pan-Cheshire team providing welfare benefits advice and casework to people living with cancer, their families, and carers. You'll help maximise their income by offering expert advice and support to access financial entitlements.
Knowledge and experience
You should have a strong working knowledge of the UK benefits system, with experience in completing benefit forms in an advice setting and providing clear, welfare benefits advice. An understanding of the challenges faced by those living with long-term illness or disability, along with excellent communication skills and a sound knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion, is essential.
Skills
You will have excellent people skills, be able to think quickly, stay calm under pressure, prioritise work and make decisions independently. You will have a good understanding of how to manage your own wellbeing and enjoy working as part of a team. A good attitude to hard work, problem solving skills and being able to work autonomously are a must.
