Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and kind Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team in an Early Years Setting. The ideal candidate will possess some knowledge of food hygiene (training will be provided), and a genuine interest in working with young children during their early years. This role involves preparing snacks, lunch and dinner, supporting children as they eat, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and food area. It is pivotal in ensuring our operations run smoothly while upholding high standards of food safety.
Responsibilities
- Sit with children during lunch time and support them eating their food whilst also creating a home from home environment by encouraging chit chat over lunch.
- Prepare afternoon snack and evening meals in a slow cooker to support the day to day running of the nursery.
- Clean up the kitchen and wash any dishes used by the children to keep a clean and safe working environment.
- Complete food risk assessments daily.
- Support with washing of laundry in the setting.
Requirements
- The role will be Monday - Friday 11.30 - 13.30.
- Some knowledge of safe working practices when working with food is desirable
- Good team work skills.
- Being flexible to attend to the daily needs of being in an Early Years setting.
- Being vigilant and supportive of young children when in the setting.
- Being kind, patient and gentle to the young children.
- Ability to be self efficient and productive during the shift.
