Summary
We are seeking a passionate Nursery Assistant to join our team at Tic Toc Nursery School. In this role, you will support the daily activities of our nursery, helping to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for young children. Your contributions will be vital in fostering their growth and development.
A lunchtime assistant in a nursery plays a crucial role in ensuring children's safety, wellbeing, and social development during meal times. Here are some key responsibilities:
- Supervising children during lunch to ensure they eat safely and behave appropriately.
- Encouraging good table manners and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Helping children with meals, such as cutting up food, opening packets, and assisting with drinks.
- Maintaining cleanliness, including setting up and cleaning tables, wiping spills, and ensuring hygiene standards.
- Supporting children with toileting needs, including changing nappies if required.
- Monitoring social interactions, encouraging positive behavior, and ensuring children remain within a safe environment.
- Facilitating play activities after lunch, supervising outdoor or indoor play depending on the weather.
- Reporting incidents, accidents, or concerns to senior staff in line with nursery policies.
- Attending training sessions, such as first aid and safeguarding courses, to ensure best practices.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
- Experience in early childhood education or childcare is preferred but not essential.
- Good communication skills to interact with children, parents, and staff effectively.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
