Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products throughout our operations. This position requires strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Coordinate and oversee the shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
- Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control and materials handling.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth logistics processes.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements.
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment and machinery, applying mechanical knowledge as needed.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare reports on logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Skills
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics coordination is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes, with a strong understanding of materials handling techniques.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for efficient inventory management.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in logistics operations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and external partners.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the role.
