Job Summary:
The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team to assess, manage, and provide treatment to patients under the care of the service. This role is ideal for a doctor with core psychiatry training experience (ST2 level) looking to gain additional clinical exposure within the NHS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments of patients, including risk assessments and mental state examinations.
- Participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings, and case conferences.
- Provide day-to-day medical care to inpatients (or community patients depending on the setting).
- Work under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist and participate in supervision and educational activities.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS and GMC standards.
- Participate in the out-of-hours rota (if applicable).
- Liaise effectively with other healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practise
- Minimum 12 months’ UK clinical experience (preferably in psychiatry)
- Completion of Foundation Training or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- MRCPsych exams (any stage)
- Section 12 approval (if applicable)
- Experience with electronic patient record systems (e.g., Rio, SystmOne)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £45.00-£55.00 per hour
