Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Locum Phlebotomist to join our team on a temporary basis for 8 weeks in West Berkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing phlebotomy, ECGs, and basic health assessments, including blood pressure, height, and weight measurements. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work efficiently and maintain a high standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling with accuracy and care
- Conduct ECGs (electrocardiograms) in line with clinical protocols
- Carry out basic health assessments, including measuring blood pressure, height, and weight
- Ensure patient comfort and provide clear explanations of procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control standards
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical setting
- Competent in performing ECGs and basic health assessments (BP, height, weight)
- Relevant certification or qualification in phlebotomy
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Reliable and professional with a patient-focused approach
