You will be based in the Bradford City Centre in the Grade One Listed City Hall and have all the benefits of the cultural, retail and leisure facilities that Bradford has to offer as the 4th largest Metropolitan District in England and Wales.
The post holder will assist the Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, Senior Lawyers and Lawyers in the provision of high quality professional legal services in the areas of Property Commercial and Development (Planning Highways, Footpaths and Licensing Law) for the Council.
The focus of the post will be to assist on Development Law matters covering a wide range of town and country planning, highways and local authority licensing matters. This will include:
Preparing and issuing Tree Preservation Orders
- Preparing and issuing Section 21 and Section 16A Orders
- Assisting in progressing completion documents for highways and planning agreements
- Assisting in preparing and processing statutory notices including notices relating to the obstructions of highways, planning contravention and enforcement notices
- Preparing bundles and files for appeal proceedings
The exercise of judgement in managing administrative duties and a caseload of routine planning and highways cases, under the overall guidance of the Team Leader is required.
The post holder will have contact with officers within the client departments, private practice solicitors and barristers, staff and managers of other agencies such as the Land Registry, Court Service, Planning Inspectorate, Police, In communities, NHS Trusts, members of the public and expert witnesses.
