Job Title: Leadership Academy CPD Programme Facilitator

Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: Central London locations, Hendon, Marlowe House, NSY and potentially other locations across the MPS


In line with A New Met for London to develop a strong cohort of leaders, the Commissioner has made a commitment to help set our leaders up to succeed by ensuring a leadership development programme for all leaders every year.

This will be delivered through the New Leadership Academy providing a contemporary and impactful learning offer to our leaders.

The QA Facilitator will be responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of teaching and learning across the Met Leadership Academy. They will ensure compliance with quality standards, provide expert guidance on best practices, and deliver ‘Train the Trainer’ programmes to enhance teaching capacity.

Essential For The Role

Knowledge

  • Experience with Ofsted, Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), or other professional regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance procedures in education and adult learning.
  • Knowledge of digital learning and innovative training methods.
  • Experience working in multi-site educational settings and/or with large training programmes.
  • Understanding of leadership models, design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment strategies.

Skills

Lead (providing leadership and assurance of this skill):

  • A proven track record of supporting educational programmes of work; using risk management appropriately and planning and developing relationships with key stakeholders.

Master (highest level of skill, operating as MPS lead in this area):

  • Quality assurance.
  • Quality improvement.
  • Quality governance.
  • Train the Trainer.

Advanced (highly competent in this skill and could train others):

  • Teaching and training facilitation.
  • L&D course continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of L&D tools and systems.
  • Assess and anticipate risk and escalate as needed.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Intermediate (executes the skill competently with minimal supervision):

  • Creative thinking.
  • Business writing.
  • Microsoft packages (Excel/PPT/SharePoint/Word).

Qualifications

  • BSc or equivalent/comparable qualification in Education, Learning & Development, or a related field.
  • Experience in project management related to learning initiatives – ideally with formal project management training (e.g., Prince2, Agile) or similar (desirable).
  • L4 IQA from a recognised body (e.g., C&G) - (desirable).
  • L3 AET (minimum) / Lvl 5 DET / PGCE (desirable).
  • Coaching and Mentoring (Lvl 3-5 preferable) (desirable).
  • Certified Quality Auditor or equivalent (desirable).
  • Membership of a professional body like CMI, IoL, CIPD, or equivalent is preferable.

Experience

  • Significant experience in teacher training, staff development, or coaching.
  • Significant experience in improving teaching and learning in an educational setting.
  • Experience in delivering Train the Trainer programmes.
  • Expertise in monitoring teaching/trainer performance and implementing improvement strategies.
