About the Role
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a mainstream school setting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and driven to make a difference in pupils' learning journeys, particularly those with mild learning difficulties and special educational needs (SEN).
You will work closely with the classroom teacher, supporting day-to-day teaching and learning. A key aspect of this role is leading small group interventions and delivering tailored support, enabling pupils to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom management, and resource organisation.
- Work collaboratively to provide additional help to pupils with mild learning difficulties or SEN needs.
- Plan and lead targeted small group sessions to boost learning and engagement.
- Encourage pupil independence while offering support that promotes inclusion and academic growth.
- Monitor pupil progress and feedback to teaching staff.
- Help create a safe, stimulating and positive classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred).
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Understanding of mild learning difficulties and basic SEN strategies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Initiative and confidence in leading small group activities and interventions.
