Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and service run smoothly. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the Head Chef or Chef.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with food safety and health and safety regulations.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for restaurant service.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support the kitchen team with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and organising stock.
- Collaborate with Chefs to ensure timely meal preparation and presentation.
- Participate in menu planning by providing feedback on dishes and assisting with recipe development when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities as needed in a dynamic kitchen setting.
- A genuine passion for food preparation and catering is essential for success in this role.
