At Madeleine's Kitchen we recreate recipes from home and all over the world using locally sourced ingredients to sell in our Delicatessen located in the beautiful South Downs National Park market town of Petersfield.
We serve excellent coffee, fabulous big fat deli sandwiches, a huge range of the best cheeses, local charcuterie and smoked fish, dry goods, cakes, pastries and a Deli Counter packed full of freshly baked produce from our Bakehouse
We are recruiting for a Kitchen Food Service Assistant to work within a friendly and progressive team. The role will assist in the production of all menu items, whilst maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in line with Food Safety Standards throughout all areas of the kitchen.
This can be a permanent or fixed term position working 40 hours on 5 straight daytime shifts across the week. Whilst this is a full time role, we are open to discussing part time hours for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Deli sandwiches, readymade soups, meals, smoothies and baked goods for breakfast and lunch service.
- Plating food for the display counter.
- Ensuring all fridge and freezer food levels are maintained according to Madeleine’s Deli standards and are in date and rotated.
- Ensuring packaging & food stock levels are maintained.
- Working within the Safer Food Better Business guidelines.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and orderly
Experience and Skills needed:
- Experience of working in a busy customer service kitchen is desirable although training can be provided.
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or gained within role.
Ideal candidate will:
- Have exceptional food service skills with emphasis on consistency and presentation.
- Be organised and prepared with an attention to detail.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and is a team player.
- Be punctual and reliable with a professional attitude.
- Have good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstarte willingness to take initiative and make decisions.
