Debden Retirement Village , based in Newport, Essex is currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant - Bank - Zero Hour Contract.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents.
- Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
- Assisting with dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
- Helping to ensure the kitchen meets all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Stocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
- Supporting the cook and kitchen team as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in a similar role in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Friendly and compassionate nature, especially when interacting with residents.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and carry out physical tasks.
