Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or within the community. Your contributions will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you assist.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care and support to clients in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations made during your shifts.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or senior care is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in caregiving skills including behaviour management and first aid.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility.
- Competence in meal preparation tailored to dietary needs.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for providing transport assistance when required.
- Previous experience in childcare may be beneficial for understanding diverse client needs.
