Dundonald Nurseries Wholesale is a well‑established, family-run wholesale supplier and grower of seasonal bedding plants, planted containers, shrubs and trees to major retailers across Northern Ireland. Role Purpose
An ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to assist in the cultivation and maintenance of live plants across our three nursery sites in Dundonald, supplying supermarkets across Northern Ireland. The successful candidate should bring a passion for growing plants, balancing careful nurturing with the ability to grow on a large scale. They should have an interest in keeping abreast if the ever-changing landscape of plant care techniques and products, moving towards organic and chemical-free growing.
Essential Requirements
- Valid PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates (this is desirable, but not essential).
- Flexibility to work early mornings or evenings (including weekends) during busy spraying/watering periods, depending on weather conditions.
- Positive, proactive, team-oriented attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Care for plants across all nursery sites, including spraying, watering, pruning, and general maintenance (PA1 & PA6 desirable).
- Keep nursery areas clean, tidy, and well-organised.
- Adhere to task instructions with focus on product quality and plant health.
- Report plant quality issues or H&S concerns promptly to line leader or manager.
- Foster strong working relationships with colleagues and support a culture of excellence.
- Actively uphold and demonstrate Dundonald Nurseries core values in daily work.
Working Hours & Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 20-minute paid morning break
- 10-minute paid afternoon break
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Work during peak periods may require early or late spraying/watering shifts based on weather conditions. This will include weekends
