About you
As a journalist in our London newsroom, you will bring a strong news sense and a clear understanding of how to tell compelling, impactful stories. You’ll have demonstrable experience using tools like Photoshop and PremierePro, and be confident in filing clean, accurate copy to tight deadlines.
You will work on daily assignments, always be looking for opportunities to deliver exclusives, news-making interviews, investigations, and documentaries.
You’ll have a solid grasp of the demands and changing trends of journalism on social platforms, with hands-on experience publishing content on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. While knowledge of SEO and content optimisation isn’t essential, it will be a helpful asset.
You’ll be flexible and responsive to the needs of a busy newsroom, including adapting to different start times or weekend shifts depending on stories and assignments.
This role is primarily office or location-based, with opportunities to work from home when appropriate. However, the expectation is that the role is largely in-person.
About The News Movement
The News Movement is a new media business built to reset how we tell the news. Co-founded by experienced media leaders and powered by a new generation of journalists, we’re tackling misinformation and rebuilding trust by delivering accurate, engaging, and impartial news on the platforms people use every day.
We focus on younger audiences (18–30) and believe great journalism can – and should – be told in bold, creative ways on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and more. Our mission is simple: to help people better understand the world around them.
Our Editorial Team
Our newsrooms in London and New York bring together talented journalists, creators, and producers who know how to spot stories, shape them for digital audiences, and spark meaningful conversations. Collaboration is key – we work across video, design, community, and editorial to deliver content that’s factual, relevant, and thought-provoking.
We’re guided by five editorial principles: facts, context, opinion, debate, and action. Whether it's a breaking story or a deeper dive, we aim to explain what matters and why – and give audiences ways to respond and engage.
At The News Movement, we do things differently. We're building a diverse, supportive, and forward-thinking newsroom where everyone has a voice, and where innovation is part of the job.
