Job Title: Joiner / Carpenter (Sub-Contractor with Potential for Full-Time)
Location: Tansley, Derbyshire
Hours: Flexible – 16 to 40 hours per week
Are you a skilled joiner or carpenter looking for varied, hands-on work in a friendly and creative environment? We’re looking for someone to join our small, growing team based in Tansley. The role is initially on a sub-contractor basis, with the opportunity to become a full-time employee if that’s something you're interested in down the line.
About the Role:
This is a practical, workshop-based position creating bespoke garden furniture, indoor furniture, and helping with general joinery work. You’ll be involved in everything from cutting and assembling to finishing and fitting, depending on your skills and experience.

- Experience in joinery or carpentry (minimum 1 year)
- Good with tools and confident working independently or as part of a small team
- A can-do attitude and a keen eye for quality and detail
- Reliable and professional, but easy-going and friendly

Responsibilities
- Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood materials according to specifications
- Install wooden structures, such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture
- Measure and mark materials for accurate cutting and fitting
- Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, and locks
- Repair or replace damaged wooden structures or components
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines when operating tools and equipment
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time
- Customer Service First Approach
- Any other duties as and when required
Requirements:
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for woodworking
- Experience in assembling and fabricating wooden structures
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and working in various positions
- UK travel for commercial fits (very rarely)
- Knowledge of Autodesk Fusion 360 software would be advantageous but not essential
