Job Summary
We are seeking 2 competent part time cooks ( jointly working 7 days a week ) to join our small team of staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing a high standard English menu and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. You will be responsible for preparing high quality breakfasts, hot and cold sandwiches, snacks and cakes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to a positive cafe experience for our members. This role requires attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently at busy times and have excellent communications skills with our members and staff.
Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus.
- Assist in meal preparation and ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
- Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in menu planning and suggest new dishes based on seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure consistency and excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook in a cafe or similar environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
- Hold current level 2 food and hygiene certificate, these can be renewed if out of date.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.5 – 38.5 per week
