Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Job Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture, with hands-on experience in gardening and growing practices. This role involves guiding and training individuals with learning disabilities in all necessary work within Staunton Country Park and teach the effective use of hand tools and power tools, as well as many other horticultural techniques, to foster a passion for gardening and landscape management.
Duties
- Provide instruction and support to individuals in order they preform necessary routine and specific duties as independently as possible.
- Develop training programmes that enhance participants' skills in horticulture and general maintenance.
- Share knowledge on growing techniques, plant care, and garden design principles.
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to participants to help them achieve their gardening goals.
- Assist with the planning and execution of gardening projects, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Foster positive relationships, providing support, care and encouragement to give our teams the best possible chance to make a positIve contribution.
Requirements
- Proven experience in horticulture, gardening, or landscape maintenance is essential.
- A sense of fun and understanding of enabling not doing
- Some experience or knowledge of people with learning disabilities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- A passion for plants and the outdoors, along with a commitment to fostering learning in others.
- Previous coaching or teaching experience is desirable but not mandatory. Join us in cultivating a love for gardening while sharing your expertise with others!
