Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Communications

About this role

Sitting within the Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Communications team (MRAC), the International Officer role will be at the heart of the University of Chichester’s ambitious plans to expand and diversify its international student body. The position will require a strategic outlook, an outcomes-oriented mindset, and the ability to engage confidently and assertively with partners and stakeholders around the world and within the University of Chichester.

The role will involve expanding and maintaining the University of Chichester’s existing network of external recruitment-oriented stakeholders, including agents, school counsellors and British Council contacts. The role will also involve finding and developing opportunities for recruitment via other channels, for instance via articulation or progression with overseas partner organisations. The post will entail optimising direct-to-client recruitment- and conversion-oriented communications, which will involve regularly reviewing current systems in areas such as digital marketing, social media and CRM, and, in liaison with the Marketing and Communications team, ensuring these are fit for purpose.

It will also require a willingness to travel, both overseas and within the UK, for an average of between 8 and 12 weeks per recruitment cycle (September to August).

About you

The postholder will be expected to be conversant with current trends in international recruitment and with the primary channels of international student recruitment. You will have at least 12 months’ experience of working in an international recruitment environment and be a motivational speaker with the ability to establish strong working relationships. An interest in travelling and interacting with people from a wide variety of cultural and language backgrounds is a must, as well as the confidence to travel the world, usually on your own, to showcase the distinctiveness of the University of Chichester.

About the team

You will be joining a highly professional, committed and student focused community and work within a small, friendly and flexible team. Global Outreach sits within the wider Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Communications (MRAC) team based on the Bishop Otter Campus, Chichester.

We are a university that prides itself on our sense of community, including an excellent staff experience.

In addition to your salary we offer a competitive reward package with a range of staff benefits and discounts which include:

  • Defined Benefit pension scheme via our provider the Local Government Pension Scheme. Your own monthly contributions are enhanced with employer contributions and a substantial automatic lump sum life cover scheme enhancement.
  • A paid closure period over the Christmas break is in addition to our generous holiday allowance with bank holidays too and an occupational sickness scheme.
  • There’s also an on-site gym at our Chichester campus; a cycle purchase salary sacrifice scheme; subsidised bus travel between our Bognor and Chichester campuses and Chichester town centre; 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme to support our staff and extensive personal / professional training opportunities throughout the year.

Enquiries are welcomed by Michael Naylor, Head of Global Outreach via email at [email protected]

  • Closing Date: Sunday 07 September 2025
  • Interview Date: w/c 22 September 2025
