About the Job
The Insurance Administrator will manage all aspects of insurance claims relating to our business operations. This pivotal role will involve handling employee liability, public liability, and motor claims, ensure efficient and effective claim resolution while minimising potential financial and reputational impacts. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for our stakeholders and colleagues on insurance matters, will diligently gather necessary evidence from internal colleagues, and provide valuable insights into claims trends through comprehensive data analysis.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of insurance claims, from initial notification through to settlement, ensuring timely and accurate processing in accordance with company policies and insurer requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact with our insurance provider/claim handlers, effectively communicating claim details, providing necessary documentation, and managing queries to facilitate smooth claim progression.
- Proactively gather all relevant information and evidence from internal staff members as required by the insurer for claim investigations and disclosure. This includes interviewing employees, reviewing records, and securing necessary documentation.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal stakeholders, keeping them informed of claim progress and any required actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all insurance claims, ensuring all documentation is organised and readily accessible.
- Utilise Excel and Power BI to analyse historical claims data, identify key trends, and prepare insightful reports for management to inform risk mitigation strategies and improve claims management processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of improved internal processes for claims handling and prevention.
- Ensure all claims handling activities adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company insurance policies.
Experience and Qualifications required
- Proven experience in managing insurance claims, ideally including employee liability, public liability, and motor claims. (Desirable)
- Strong understanding of insurance principles, the claims processes, and relevant legal frameworks. (Desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, including the ability to create charts and pivot tables.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
