As a dynamic and energetic Hygiene Team Leader you will be responsible for :
Leading the team to deliver the required hygiene standards for the area, with a key focus on team member safety, product safety and process optimisation, providing daily support and coaching to all team members.
Safety is a condition
- Build a culture of safety within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that all activities have formal risk assessments and corrective actions have been completed as a priority.
- Embrace “Go for Zero” by promoting positive behaviours, root causing near misses and coaching team members to work safely.
- Ensure that all team members have the appropriate training to do their required tasks in a safe manner.
- Complete all safety checks at the appropriate frequencies, and ensure the environment is as safe as possible for all team members to work in.
Hygiene Strategy
- Fully support the activities that are defined within the hygiene master schedule for the area, maintaining a key focus on the metrics of the area.
- Drive new technology and methodologies to continuously improve the hygiene standards.
- Work cross functionally and build relationships to maximise performance, especially between the day shift and nights.
- Ensure that each team member understands their role in delivering our business goals. Build a high performing team
- Build strong relationships with each team member.
- Minimise absenteeism and organise unplanned cover when required taking the necessary steps to minimise cost.
- Train the team on OPEX tools systems and standards and track team member capability using versatility matrices.
- Involve the team in priority problem solving activities and promote a culture of learning and development.
- Communicate regularly and ensure goals and manufacturing targets are clear through team forums and MySuccess.
- Ensure team members are working to their strengths.
- Use problem solving to remove obstacles which may prevent team members from completing their roles effectively.
- Reward both successes and ideal behaviours. Address any performance issues promptly and discretely. OPEX Improvement
- Collect and analyse hygiene performance data to drive improvement plans.
- Improve key metrics for the hygiene teams and drive 3C problem solving activity.
- Standarise hygiene work through the use of 5S, Work Element Sheets, Standard Operating Procedures and other standards required to run the area effectively. Conduct hygiene confirmation checks to ensure standards are met. Deliver value for the business and for the customer
- Use visual management to communicate to the team performance issues and what you are doing about correcting them.
- Ensure that handovers are completed efficiently between the different shift teams.
- Ensure that poor hygiene standards are not passed on to the next shift.
- Complete all documentation for safety, quality, operations, environmental an asset management as required by our systems and by our customers.
Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills.
- Fluency of English language (Oral and Written).
- Ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
- Experience in managing a hygiene operation.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Team management experience.
- Proficient with MS Office tools.
- Understanding of lean tools and formal problem solving.
- Detailed understanding of the processes in the area of responsibility.
