HR Generalist – Immediate Start Required
Location: Grays, Essex (Primary Base) Travel to Medway & Maidstone Required

We are urgently seeking an experienced HR Officer to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality HR services across our group of GP surgeries located in Grays (Essex), Rochester (Medway) and Maidstone. This is a multi-site role, with Grays being the main base. The successful candidate must be available to start within the next three weeks due to the departure of our current HR Administrator.
About the Role
You’ll be an integral part of a busy HR department, responsible for delivering a full range of HR services including:
- Leading recruitment and vetting processes in line with Safer Recruitment and GDPR compliance.
- Coordinating induction, onboarding, and facilitating the training of all new staff.
- Managing and maintaining accurate HR records and monthly absence reports.
- Supporting employee relations cases and providing first-line HR guidance.
- Ensuring all HR functions meet CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
- Liaising confidently with senior leadership, clinicians and staff across all sites.
- Liaising and supporting Managers to help reduce and manage absences
- Setting up new starters on the company database and allocating annual leave
- Providing advise and responding to emails on general HR queries
- Support in the disciplinary meetings, investigations and take meaningful notes
- Ensure all documents are properly filed
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years’ experience in an HR Officer, Advisor or Generalist role preferably with health background.
- CIPD qualified or working towards it.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage workload under minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, CQC regulations, and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills so must be able to engage at all levels, including Directors and Partners.
- Willingness to travel between sites as required.
- Must be able to work in a small HR team
- Must maintain confidentiality at all times
Other Requirements
- Ability to start at short notice.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Must have access to transport for site travel (Grays, Tilbury, Rochester, Maidstone).
