Role Overview:
The HR & EHS Advisor is a dual-role position combining generalist HR responsibilities with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support. The role supports the implementation of HR policies, employee relations, and talent processes while ensuring the site complies with health & safety regulations and promotes a safe and positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support on HR matters including absence management, employee relations, onboarding, and policy guidance.
- Support recruitment and selection processes, including interviews and right-to-work checks.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS updates.
- Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
EHS Responsibilities:
- Conduct and review risk assessments and safety inspections.
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S regulations and company standards.
- Maintain accident and incident records; support investigation and reporting.
- Coordinate EHS training and awareness sessions.
- Promote a proactive culture of health, safety, and wellbeing.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of UK employment law and H&S regulations (HSE).
- Experience in HR advisory roles and/or operational safety roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications:
- CIPD Level 5+ or working toward it.
- IOSH Managing Safely (required); NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
- Previous experience in HR & EHS within manufacturing, industrial, or logistics sectors is beneficial.
