Reporting to the HR Manager
This role is for a HR Advisor to work within our well-established manufacturing business based in Pontardawe on a 12 month temporary contract, covering maternity leave.
The HR Advisor is a true hands-on generalist role providing front line HR support to all levels across the organisation.
The role will be involved in the full HR life cycle and will include the following (but is not limited to):
- Facilitate the recruitment process and new starter programme
- Experience in interviewing and supporting Managers through the process
- Co-ordinate on-boarding activities, focusing on our 30, 60, 90 day initiative through to end of probationary period
- Coach and support Managers on recruitment, performance management and absence management
- Review data with Line Managers to support the process
- Review in-house and external training courses
- Absence Management to include Occupational Health Reviews
- Organise Occupational Health Reviews, in line with the Annual Plan
- Experience in facilitating disciplinary investigations, including note taking
- Gather and analyse HR data, identifying trends, underlying issues and review strategies to apply fixes
- Track and monitor data for monthly management reporting (KPIs)
- Analyse complex issues and provide practical and workable solutions
- Identity new approaches to apply to current working practices, to streamline the HR function
- Interact with all levels across the business, providing structured HR support and advice
- Provide information, support and advice to all employees
- Attend meetings and prepare detailed and accurate Minutes in a timely manner
- Willing and enthusiastic to play a key part in the development of the HR function
The successful candidate profile
- Ideally, be CIPD qualified (or part qualified) and experience of working in a HR Advisory role is essential
- Experience of working within a manufacturing organisation or similar environment is essential
- Excellent administration and organisation skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Personable and approachable
- Data driven decision maker
- A flexible attitude with good communication skills (written, telephone and in person) is essential
- Enthusiastic, hardworking and focused, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Have a track record in coaching leaders on performance management, recruitment and absence management
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines and respond to requests promptly
Salary
£30k - £35k (depending on experience and skills)
Hours
38 hours per week.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.00 -16.30 and Friday 8.00 to 14.30, with 30 minute unpaid lunch break per day.
Holidays
25 days per annum; plus Bank Holidays.
Pension
Company pension contributions are available at 5% and 4% employee contribution, automatic enrolment after 3 months
