About The Role
Tewkesbury Borough Council have an exciting opportunity within the Housing Advice Team.
It is recognised that sometimes customers need help in a number of support areas when facing homelessness. Aspiring to work within a trauma-informed approach, the team aims to react quickly to those needs, developing risk assessments and support plans to address those needs appropriately.
The team will work alongside other services including Gloucestershire Housing Partnership Team, Mental Health, Substance Misuse support, Outreach and many others to develop consistent pathways and effective processes.
We have a fixed term opportunity which has become available for a post which will provide housing related support to rough sleepers, those placed in emergency or temporary accommodation, or who have secured long term accommodation and need ongoing support to sustain this.
The post will provide a community-based response with short to medium term advocacy, support and advice delivered via one-to-one and through multi-agency arrangements.
The post will work alongside the Housing Advice Officers to provide responsive needs led interventions with customers in order to help customers live independently and meet and practical social and emotional needs identified in assessments, or their personalised housing plan.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working effectively with a range of services and have the skills, passion, and resilience to work creatively with customers to understand and work to meet their needs.
Whilst in post there will be development opportunities alongside flexible working with the option of a hybrid working environment with visits to accommodation provision and external meetings regularly required.
