Job Summary
We are a dedicated acute mental health hospital, committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a safe and therapeutic environment. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a reliable, motivated Housekeeping Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for our service users, staff, and visitors.
Duties
- Cleaning and sanitising patient areas, staff rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas
- Safe disposal of waste and linen handling
- Replenishing supplies (e.g. soap, paper towels)
- Following infection prevention & control and COSHH guidelines
- To provide a high standard of domestic service, ensuring all patients experience a pleasant, safe, clean and welcoming environment and are courteously assisted and directed in an acceptable manner
- To assist in pot wash shifts when required
- To assist with the movement of materials and equipment
Skills
- Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or domestic roles (healthcare setting preferred)
- Understanding of infection control procedures
- Awareness of safeguarding and patient dignity
- Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
- Friendly, respectful manner with sensitivity to mental health service users
- Willingness to undertake training (e.g. COSHH, infection control, safeguarding)
- Working within care for vulnerable adults is advantageous
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
