We’re looking for a dependable and proactive Night Porter to join our overnight team at The Abbotsford Hotel, a boutique hotel known for warm hospitality, stylish interiors, and memorable guest experiences
About the Role
As our Night Porter, you’ll be the calm, capable presence on-site during the quiet hours, ensuring guest safety, late-night service, and hotel readiness for the following day. You’ll support guests enjoying a late drink in the bar, manage occasional late check-ins, and take pride in presenting a clean, secure, and well-prepared hotel each morning.
Key Responsibilities
- Late-Night Guest Support: Serve drinks and provide friendly service for guests staying up late in The Copper Bar (basic bar skills required).
- Check-ins & Front Desk Support: Handle late arrivals with professionalism using our booking system (training provided).
- Function Setup: Prepare event spaces for the next day—tables, chairs, basic décor or AV setup as per instructions.
- Housekeeping Tasks: Overnight cleaning of public/common areas, including reception, hallways, restrooms, and the bar.
- Security Checks: Perform regular patrols throughout the property to ensure guest safety and building security.
- Guest Requests: Respond promptly to any overnight guest needs or concerns, ensuring their comfort and peace of mind.
- Breakfast Setup Support: Assist with laying out the early breakfast setup where required.
Who We’re Looking For
- Hospitality experience preferred (especially in bar, hotel, or front desk roles)
- Comfortable working independently overnight
- Friendly, calm, and reliable under pressure
- Physically able to move furniture and complete manual tasks
- Basic computer literacy (email, check-in systems, logging reports)
- A self-starter with strong attention to detail and a helpful attitude

Shifts will typically be scheduled on a 4-nights on/4-nights off basis, with shifts starting at 10pm and ending at 8am. Extra consideration will be given to candidates who have the experience and skills to assume a Head Night Porter role at slightly higher pay rate..

Pay: £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
