Newcastle upon Tyne, England

Who Are We?

The Percy Hedley Foundation is one of the largest regional charities supporting people with a range of learning and physical needs. We take a person centred, flexible approach to the care and support we provide.

We work towards excellence every day and our team members are committed to delivering the very best outcomes for the people we support. Our dynamic and flexible service is tailored to the specific needs of the individual, making it easier to live, learn and be part of a world adapting to change.

Hedley’s College is a high-quality specialist further education and training provider. We provide education and training for young people aged 16-25 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities who require specialist individual programmes to develop their communication, independence, and employability skills. We help our learner make successful transitions into adulthood within the Northeast region.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Therapy team within Hedleys College as Higher Level Therapy Support. The therapy team is comprised of Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy and work term time only supporting young people aged 16-25 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.

The Higher Level Therapy Support role supports the delivery of therapy interventions to a delegated caseload of students on a group or individual basis, under direction from the therapy team. The successful candidate will predominantly support our Physiotherapists but may also work closely with the wider therapy team. The physiotherapy team have a strong focus on health and wellbeing; therefore this role involves a level of physical activity to support students with interventions such as hydrotherapy and rebound therapy (trampolining).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, assertive and adaptable individual to join the team. You would become part of an existing, dedicated therapy team who strive to deliver best practice at all times.

This post will start in September 2025.

If you would like to discuss the role in more detail please contact Fiona Jenkins [email protected].

Interviews will take place on Thursday 3rd July
