Herdsperson/General Farm Worker

D R & A Higgins & Son is a progressive family run dairy farm.

We are milking 220 pedigree Holsteins and rear all of our own replacements.

All field work tasks are carried out in-house alongside carrying out contract work for other farms.

We are in search of a general farm worker/herdsperson to work alongside the existing team, this would mainly be a livestock based role, with a particular focus on, the milking herd and youngstock.

Main Tasks would include;

• Milking
• Herd Health
• Feeding and Bedding youngstock
• Fencing/managing grazing
• Dehorning/Vaccinations
• Tractor Driving

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: £12.50-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Education:

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

• farm: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
