Join Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) for 9-12 months as their HEMS Support Administrator and contribute to a Charity that makes a difference every day.

About the Role:

As part of our HEMS Support Team, you will be instrumental in maintaining the smooth running of HEMS Operations. You will work closely with the HEMS Support Manager, and Operational teams to enable them to provide timely and high-quality critical care to patients. You will also join at an exciting time where you will support the move and setup of the Charity’s new Operating Base at Southampton Airport.

This is a varied and rewarding role where your skills will directly support the Charity’s helicopter emergency medical service. This role is for 30 hours per week and can be worked over 4 full days or 5 shorter days, Monday to Friday. You will need to work on site from Thruxton Airbase as well as the new base at Southampton Airport (Eastleigh). As the role is 0.8 of a full-time role the advertised salary and benefits will be pro-rata accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

· Make arrangements to ensure HIOWAA’s fleet of Critical Care vehicles is well maintained.

· Ensure adequate medical consumables stock, storage and records are maintained.

· Be responsible for medical equipment service checks and arranging servicing and delivery when required.

· Conduct various health and safety checks and drills at the Airbase and maintain required records e.g. fire safety and legionella tests.

· Support the arranging and hosting of visits to the Airbase.

· Provide HEMS Support onboarding for new members of staff and Airbase familiarisation.

· Maintain uniform stock and issue new staff with uniform and PPE.

· Occasionally attend HIOWAA events and meet supporters.

· Attend fire marshal, first aid and basic life support training.

What We’re Looking For:

· At least 2 years’ experience in an administrative role.

· An understanding of medical stores procurement and ordering is desirable, but full training will be given if you don’t have this.

· A full, clean UK recognised driving licence is essential.

· Ability to work unsupervised.

· Methodical, with high attention to detail.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to host visitors.

· Team player.

· Problem solving skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and to a deadline.

· Flexible attitude to work.

· An understanding of manual handling techniques.

· Excellent understanding of IT skills, especially Microsoft Office.

· Passion for supporting the voluntary sector.
