LV Community are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join the team on weekends, to be responsible for providing a service for people that require all ranges of support and care in the community.
Health Care Assistants are also responsible for ensuring compliance with the Care Inspectorate and other regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities;-
- Work as part of a care team to provide high-quality care to our clients, in-line with the highest regulatory standards.
- Personal development and continued learning towards a fuller understanding and fulfilment of excellent standards of care.
- To be aware of any deterioration in physical and mental health of our clients, and advise the Deputy/Registered Manager in a timely manner.
- To carry out tasks in a way that will demonstrate respect for dignity and privacy, irrespective of the severity of disability or personal circumstances.
- To encourage positive social interaction with our clients.
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, unless there is deemed a risk to clients or any other members of staff.
- Ensure completion of relevant paperwork as required by your role.
- To participate in team meetings, supervisions and annual appraisals.
- To liaise with other agencies involved with clients, as required.
- To attend multidisciplinary agency meetings where requested and where appropriate.
- To respect the rights and choices of our clients.
Personal Care Responsibilities;-
- To support our clients and carry out personal care tasks as specified within the Care Plan(s) in order that the tasks are carried out to enhance and support the independence of the Service User.
- Participate in personal care tasks in order to help our clients achieve the aims and objectives of their Care Plan(s).
Domestic Responsibilities;-
- Carry out domestic tasks within the Service User's home.
- Participate in any audit cycle relating to domestic tasks.
Training & Development Responsibilities;-
- Maintain own continuing professional development.
- To ensure that the mandatory training is complete and in-compliance with company standards and to attend training when requested.
Compliance Responsibilities;-
- Comply with all aspects of the Group in relation to policies, procedures, guidelines, and audits.
- Maintain compliancy with the care inspectorate regulations and other Health Regulators of where the Group operates.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- No formal qualification required, but RQF Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable, or a willingness to undertake this qualification at the earliest convenience. For Health Care Assistants without RQF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), the Care Certificate will need to be completed.
- Level 3 RQF Medication Unit is required for those looking to undertake tasks relating to medication administration.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
