Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. Your primary focus will be on assisting with daily living activities, ensuring that each patient receives the highest standard of care while promoting their dignity and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support the implementation of care plans by following established guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all patients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Experience or knowledge of care plans to provide tailored support for individual needs.
- Ability to drive and transport patients safely when required.
- Previous experience in home care or care home settings is advantageous.
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
- A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to help others.
