An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join the stroke rehab team on ward 21 at Fairfield General Hospital

The stroke rehab ward is a busy environment where patient are transferred from the acute stroke unit for rehabilitation and discharge planning.

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to help support our patients with all aspects of daily living and to encourage independence where possible.

We would expect you to have good time keeping skills, be able to work well in a team but also be able to use your own initiative, with patient care being at the centre of all work carried out.

This role requires you to work over a 24 hour basis, working days, nights, weekend and bank holidays.

Changes to the UK immigration policy introduced on the 9th April 2025, increased the minimum salary threshold for certificates of sponsorship applications for Health and Care Worker Visa from £23,200 (£11.90 per hour) to £25,000 (£12.82 per hour). As per Agenda for Change, if you are new to the NHS your starting salary would be £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum threshold, and therefore not eligible for sponsorship. Main purpose of the job:
To undertake the role of assisting in the delivery of all aspects of care to ensure patient centred care is delivered safely and in a timely manner.

To provide clinical support as required to help ensure the efficient and effective running of the unit at all times.

Assist in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care and enable patients to achieve all aspect of daily living.

it is expected that following appointment you will undertake training inline with Band 3 skills, ECG, venepuncture, cannulation, observations and bladder scanning.
