Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist clients with daily activities, promoting their independence and quality of life.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Help implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Experience in home care or a similar setting is preferred but not essential.
- Proficient in English for effective communication with clients and team members.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software systems.
- Ability to drive is advantageous for transporting clients when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
