Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will assist with daily living activities and contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, while fostering a positive environment for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support patients with mobility and physical activities as needed.
- Help in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress, including updates to care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on patient status.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and improvements.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all residents by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their comfort during transport.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English are necessary for effective interaction with patients and colleagues.
- Experience in developing or following care plans is beneficial.
- A genuine drive to improve the quality of life for individuals in your care is essential.
