Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with the nurse on shift to support the clients physical and mental health needs.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Drive to patients’ homes when required, ensuring safe transportation and adherence to all road safety regulations.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand and follow care plans accurately.
- A valid driving licence is an advantage for those involved in home visits.
- Proficiency in IT systems related to healthcare documentation is beneficial.
- A caring attitude towards patients and a commitment to providing high-quality support.
