Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a variety of settings, including home care and care homes. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed, adhering to dietary requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Drive to patients' homes or care facilities as required, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled visits.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in patient living areas to promote hygiene and comfort.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to follow care plans meticulously while adapting to the individual needs of patients.
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes and communication within the team.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between locations.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial attributes for this role.
