Job Summary
Rodney House Care Home, part of EBS Services Ltd, is seeking compassionate and committed Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to join our team. Based in central Liverpool, Rodney House provides residential care for up to 57 adults with mental health needs. This is a meaningful role supporting the wellbeing, dignity, and independence of our residents in a safe and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering holistic care tailored to individual resident needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Personal Care: Assisting residents with hygiene needs such as bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Mobility Support: Helping residents move safely using appropriate aids and encouraging physical activity
- Meal Assistance: Supporting residents with eating and drinking, ensuring individual dietary requirements are met
- Infection Control: Maintaining high hygiene standards and supporting infection prevention measures
- Medication Support: Reminding and assisting residents with medication, following direction from senior staff or healthcare professionals
- Emotional Wellbeing: Offering companionship, emotional reassurance, and promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere
- Record Keeping: Accurately maintaining care plans, observations, and reporting any changes or concerns (under supervision)
- Housekeeping: Supporting with tasks like making beds, cleaning rooms, and keeping equipment clean and functional
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicating effectively with residents, families, and the wider multidisciplinary care team
- Promoting Independence: Encouraging residents to take an active role in their daily lives and maintain independence wherever possible
- Community Engagement: Accompanying residents on outings or appointments when needed

Requirements
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to train)
- Strong communication skills and emotional resilience
- Compassionate, empathetic, and adaptable to residents' diverse needs
- Physically capable of undertaking moving and handling tasks
- Availability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Desirable:
- Previous experience in residential care or mental health settings
